Kristen Siarzynski
As Director of the University Transfer Center, Kristen Siarzynski leads efforts to provide advising support and advocacy that promote transfer student success. In alignment with the Center’s mission, she works collaboratively with campus and community partners to ensure transfer students have the resources and guidance they need to thrive at UNC Charlotte.
Kristen has more than two decades of experience in higher education and is deeply committed to helping students navigate complex systems, receive credit for the work they’ve already done, and stay on track to complete their degrees. She joined UNC Charlotte in 2007 as Assistant Director of the Building Educational Strengths & Talents (BEST) Program, a federally funded TRIO Student Support Services initiative. She later spent more than 10 years in University College, advising exploratory students and supporting programs such as 49er Rebound, learning communities, and new student orientation.
Kristen earned her Bachelor of Social Work from UNC Greensboro, her Master of Social Work from East Carolina University, and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from UNC Charlotte. She is proud to serve the university as both an alum and an advocate for transfer students.
Outside of work, Kristen enjoys reading historical fiction, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends—especially her two daughters.
