Post-traditional students are a valued part of the UNC Charlotte community. The University Transfer Center is here to help you feel connected, supported, and informed. Whether you’re returning to college after time away, balancing work and family, or transferring in with prior credits, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Who are Post-Traditional Students?
Post-traditional students include those who:
Are age 24 or older
- Work full-time
- Are financially independent
- Have children or care for dependents
- Serve or have served in the military
- Delayed starting college or have a gap in enrollment


How We Support You?
- Connect you to campus resources and services
- Advocate for the unique needs of post-traditional students
- Host events that build community and support success
- Help you review and re-evaluate your transfer credits
- Offer info sessions tailored to your experience
