Tau Sigma Executive Board

Tau Sigma offers transfer students the opportunity to take on leadership roles while supporting the growth and success of the organization. Executive board members help lead chapter meetings, plan events, support member engagement, and strengthen community among Niner transfer students.

President

The President serves as the primary student leader for the chapter and helps guide the organization’s overall direction and success. Responsibilities include:

  • Attend and Facilitate monthly chapter meetings.
  • Attend monthly executive board meetings.
  • Oversee the induction ceremony for all new members.
  • One-on-one meetings with the faculty/staff advisor at least once a month, but more as needed.
  • Responsible for the renewal of the organization in conjunction with the Secretary.
  • Contribute planning and facilitation time for two events monthly for the tenure of the position.
  • They are expected to collaborate with the executive board to engage in community building and service activities with Niner transfer students. 

Vice President

The Vice President supports chapter operations and helps ensure the needs of members are being met. Responsibilities include:

  • Work to maintain the membership needs of the organization.
  • Attend and co-facilitate monthly chapter meetings
  • Attend monthly executive board meetings
  • Co-facilitate and attend the induction ceremony for all new members.
  • Contribute planning and facilitation time for two events monthly for the tenure of the position.
  • They are expected to contribute time to collaborate with the executive board to engage in community building and service activities with Niner transfer students.

Secretary

The Secretary manages the organization’s records, communications, and promotional materials. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee all the publication and recording needs of the organization.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate written records of the member and executive board minutes.
  • Responsible for the creation of all publications, flyers, and content that are to be distributed to members and for all events sponsored by Tau Sigma.
  • Responsible for the renewal of the organization in conjunction with the President.
  • Contribute planning and facilitation time for two events monthly for the tenure of the position.
  • They are expected to contribute time to collaborate with the executive board to engage in community building and service activities with Niner transfer students.

Treasurer

The Treasurer oversees the financial operations of the organization. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the budgetary needs of the organization.
  • Responsible for keeping a current balanced record of the Tau Sigma account.
  • Attend and co-facilitate monthly chapter meetings
  • Attend monthly executive board meetings.
  • Contribute planning and facilitation time for two events monthly for the tenure of the position.
  • They are expected to contribute time to collaborate with the executive board to engage in community building and service activities with Niner transfer students.

Elections and Appointments

Executive board appointments are for one year. Students interested in serving in a leadership position with Tau Sigma should email tau-sigma@charlotte.edu for more information.
